PreachCaster ("Service"), operated by SOMA Insights through Nomion AI ("Company," "we," "us"), is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your information when you use our automated YouTube-to-podcast platform and AI-powered sermon tools.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
- Church or organization name
- Contact email address
- Account credentials (passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text)
- Billing information (processed securely through Stripe; we do not store credit card numbers)
2.2 YouTube & Sermon Data
- YouTube channel or playlist identifiers
- Video metadata (titles, descriptions, publish dates, thumbnails)
- Audio extracted from YouTube videos
- Sermon transcripts (auto-generated or retrieved from YouTube captions)
- AI-generated content (summaries, discussion guides, scripture references, topic tags)
- Search index data for sermon discovery features
2.3 Usage Data
- Search queries performed on your sermon library
- Pages visited and features used within the dashboard
- Device type, browser, and IP address
- Podcast feed access logs (RSS subscribers, download counts)
3. How We Use Your Information
- Process YouTube uploads into podcast episodes and serve your RSS feed.
- Generate AI-powered sermon content (summaries, guides, search results).
- Power sermon search and discovery features.
- Manage your subscription, billing, and account.
- Communicate with you about service updates, new features, and support.
- Improve the Service through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security threats.
4. AI Processing
We use third-party AI services to generate sermon summaries, discussion guides, and other content features. When your sermon data is processed:
- Transcript data may be sent to third-party AI providers for content generation.
- AI-generated outputs are stored in our database and associated with your church account.
- We select AI providers whose policies do not use customer API data for model training.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Service providers: Cloud infrastructure, payment processing, and AI service providers — only as necessary to operate the Service.
- Podcast platforms: Your RSS feed (including episode titles, descriptions, and audio URLs) is publicly accessible by design so that podcast directories can index it.
- Legal requirements: If required by law, subpoena, or legal process.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users.
6. Data Storage & Security
- Data is stored on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure in the United States.
- Sensitive data (API keys, OAuth tokens) is encrypted at rest using field-level Fernet encryption.
- All data in transit is encrypted via TLS/HTTPS.
- Database access is restricted to authorized services through Cloud SQL Auth Proxy.
- We follow industry-standard security practices but cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
- Active accounts: Data is retained for the duration of your subscription.
- Cancelled accounts: Your podcast RSS feed continues serving for 30 days after cancellation. Audio files and generated content are retained for 90 days, then permanently deleted.
- Account deletion: You may request full account deletion by contacting support@nomion.ai. We will delete your data within 30 days of the request.
- Anonymized analytics: Aggregated, de-identified usage data may be retained indefinitely for service improvement.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Opt out of non-essential communications.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

10. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may use analytics tools to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
11. Children's Privacy
PreachCaster is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn that a child has provided personal information, we will delete it promptly.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice within the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
